Well we made it to the end of the school year. I bet on March 13th no one thought it would end like this. By 'like this' I mean no end of the year celebrations, no hugs from teachers, no parties, no last day for the kids to come running out with their friends asking for playdates. By 'like this' though I also mean pure joy and accomplishment for the kids (and parents!) that they made it through something they never planned for, an even greater appreciation for all of the hard working people we love, every minute spent with family and friends never taken for granted because everyone has missed one another so much. Many special moments were cancelled for so many but it has been amazing to see everyone working even harder to make sure all of the children, graduates or not, still feel special on their important days.
This session was meant just for that for these adorable kindergarteners. Seeing their proud, smiling faces made everything better. Even though they hadn't seen one another in some time, nothing had changed-the love was still there. Despite everything, the kids were happy as could be and their pictures showed it. The joy, the love, the hope. For a moment everything felt normal again. Summer is here and another school year has come and gone as it always does. We didn't get here the way we had expected but we did. They did. You did. Everyone should be proud. Congratulations to all.
